We have winners

Well it's Friday and I have the winning name for my shop but it was difficult.

Sondra's Home Essentials had the most votes (5) but it would not fit on Etsy without taking away some letters (which wouldn't have looked or sounded right :( ). SO the next name with 4 votes was Sondra's Scents & Scrubs (which also would not fit) and yup I did them with no spaces in between the words. So the next ones with 3 votes a piece were Essentials by Sondra and GetFreshwithSondra. I couldn't make the decision myself between the two (I love them both) so I assigned them a number (1 & 2), went to random.org and Essentials by Sondra won. So my new shop is http://www.etsy.com/shop/EssentialsbySondra. Thanks to everyone who suggested names and voted! I really appreciate your support.

I will be setting up a new blog, new facebook fan page, twitter account and all of that and will post the links for anyone who'd like to show me some love and add me with the new name

Happy Monday everyone! I hope all the Mothers and Mommy-to-bes had a great Mother's Day!

Well, it's time to vote now for what I should rename my shop. Thank you to everyone who gave me name suggestions :) If you missed out on the opportunity to suggest a name, I will allow suggestions through tonight only.

The winning name will be decided on Friday based on the most votes. If for some reason, the name is taken on Etsy, or if a search is done and another company is using that name..the next available name with the most votes will be chosen.

For those that gave suggestions, you are entered to win your choice of a 2 oz room spray, 4 oz laundry detergent sample, or a 4 oz bath salt sample (your choice of scent). The winner will be announced on my blog by Noon (Eastern time) on Friday.

Rename my shop/Giveaway

**Edited to add- Due to how excited I am thanks to this giveaway to change my shop name (I was sick and devastated for a while), I'm going to end the suggestions for names this Sunday, May 9th. On Monday, May 10th, I'll put up a poll of the names for everyone to vote for. The winning name will be decided (by the most votes) on Friday, May 14th. I feel this is best before I add too much more to my shop and rack up more listing fees. I'm also offering the choice of a 4 oz sample of my bath salts for the giveaway**

Due to some issues beyond my control, I am going to have to rename/reopen a new shop with a different name (depending on when Etsy sets up the availability to change our names without having to close shop). I had considered just changing it to my name so I don't have to file for another DBA, but Deb/LilacAve came up with this great idea to do a giveaway. So for my followers, customers, friends, and team mates, I'm doing a rename my shop giveaway. Please post in the comments below, what you think I should name my shop and as I come up with names I like, I'll post. On May 17th, I'll narrow the names down to just a few and put up a poll where you can vote once for your favorite. On May 31st, I will have a new shop name :) For everyone who submits a name, you will be entered to win either a 2 oz room spray (your choice of scent) or a 4 oz laundry detergent sampler (again your choice of scent). I will choose the winner via random.org on May 31st.

It's Tuesday

I've been very busy this morning. I listed some more items on my zibbet shop http://www.zibbet.com/ssymmondscreations and my 1000markets shop http://www.1000markets.com/shop/ssymmondscreations. I'm trying to work on new photos for my items but the weather isn't cooperating with me today.

I also need to shred some more soap bars and let the shavings dry for my laundry detergent. Hopefully later this week, I'll be able to make my own soap. I don't know if I'll sell my soap online, but I do plan to make my own for my laundry detergent instead of using ivory soap. I recently learned that ivory soap contains tallowate which involves animals and I'd like to be able to offer my products to vegans. So, the ivory soap has to go in order to do that.

I'm also still trying to come up with new products, marketing strategies and more. I really need to get busy on my end. I've had a few sales in my Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/SSymmondsCreations but it's not enough to justify this business being my only job and my main source of income.

My Military Monday

Going to do better

I have seriously slacked on my blog. It's partially due to no followers and forgetting about it but starting today, I'm going to try to post on here daily and do my best to get some followers. I want to start doing features on my fellow Homefront teammates as well as my Will Craft for Food teammates during the week. I'm also thinking of doing a giveaway once a month for my blog followers. So I wiped out the handful of posts I had posted so far and am starting new :)
